Spittal is the most Northerly coastal village in England – if you see the sign for Scotland you’ve gone too far!

By road

We are on the main A1 road between London and Edinburgh. Turn off at the Scremerston roundabout and follow the A1167 road over the brow of the hill and at the mini-roundabout beside Farmfoods/Swan Leisure Centre turn right and follow Billendean Terrace down until you reach Spittal.

By rail

We are easily accessible thanks to the East Coast Main Line which stops at Berwick Railway Station via services of Virgin East Coast or Cross Country.

View of train crossing the Royal Border Bridge from Spittal Beach.

By foot

Spittal is part of the Northumberland Coastal Path which attracts many walkers all year.

By bicycle

We are practically the end point of the newly created Sandstone Way which runs all the way from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Hexham
