Congratulations to Raine Doelberg who helps organise beach cleaning at Spittal for her receipt of the Marsh Volunteer Award for Marine Conservation.
This Award is run in partnership with the Wildlife Trusts and recognises a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to marine conservation and who has furthered the work of the Wildlife Trusts in this area.
After the lovely weather on Saturday unfortunately the weather got the better of us on Sunday but it didn’t dampen the spirits in the marquee where Direct Pets held their fun dog show and the Tideline Runners previewed their Sam & Isla production before we finished the day off with musical entertainment through until 10pm.
Sean Corcoran also provided some fantastic designs on the beach over the course of his visit. See his page at The Art Hand for more.
Massive thank you to everyone who came along on the day, donated prizes and food and helped in the set up and clearing up on the day.
The weather was kind again this year and we had great entertainment sets from The Tinkers and Revival.
We raised a very significant amount which will be spent on the park by the Gardening Group.
From 2 to 5pm in Seafield Park the Gardening Group are holding their annual fundraising Tea In The Park event.
As part of the preparation for this year’s Northumberland in Bloom judging the Gardening Group are holding a Doorstep Floral Competition.
We are looking for residents to put up hanging baskets, window boxes or flower containers outside of their doors to add even more colour to the village.
We would also like businesses to join in too and there are prizes in both categories.
