One of our projects was to create a small force of volunteers that can assist NCC to maintain the main planted areas in the village, especially Seafield Park adjacent to the Bowling Club.
This has been a successful enterprise over the years and has seen a number of areas transformed through the Group’s efforts along with support from NCC personnel and local tradesmen. In 2017 we received a Silver Merit award from Northumbria in Bloom in the Best Residential Community category. The group has also staged a number of very successful fundraising “Tea in the Park” events at Seafield Park each year.
